Guiding belief

Communities should be able to define and achieve their own priorities and aspirations.

This is a belief I developed growing up in a small rural North Queensland community in the 1990s.

It has only strengthened further during almost 20 years of professional work, largely with community members and about mining industry policy and practice in the context of regional and First Nations communities.

Guiding values

  • Integrity: Taking time to understand what trust means to others and demonstrating through action.
  • Care: Recognising that the issues I work on are about peoples’ lives. What is a professional practice to me is their everyday.
  • Curiosity: Genuine interest in understanding other people, their ideas and what’s possible. Passion for learning and change.
  • Impact: What we deliver together should live and have value long beyond us.

Working style

Collaborative, passionate bridge builder, seeking to help chart a new, envisioned or stronger path between what is and what’s possible.
